DSS for ProSim

The story

Context

SimAer, a Panamanian company, sells advanced flight simulators and trains professional pilots for flight academies and aviation institutions across Latin America.

Challenge

When a system error occurred during simulation, pilots had to consult technical manuals, locate and decode the message and decide what to do. That consumed training time and reduced the realism of the emergency response.

Intervention

A specialized application for ProSim simulators that identifies and interprets errors in real time.

Engineering

A graphical interface that shows clear descriptions of each fault and its implications for the aircraft’s systems, so instructors and trainees understand the scenario without breaking immersion.

Outcome

Faster decisions and more realistic training; the solution was presented at the EATS 2019 aviation symposium in Berlin.
